2B Pencil Kneaded eraser 2 - Rolls paper towels (Very important) 2 plastic containers for water Painting board - I use a 16“ x 23“ Gatorboard from www.cheapjoes.com – you can clip, tape and or use a small office stapler and staple paper to it. (I also use a 23“ x 31“ Gatorboard for larger paintings. Buying the bigger size is optional.) Palette – bring what you have -I use a John Pike palette with 20 paint wells Masking fluid – The only one I like is Pébéo Art Gum www.cheapjoes.com Brushes – Bring what you have. Recommend: 1“ and 2“ wash brushes (flats), ½“ flat #10 or #12 round, 6 round, smaller round for detail – your choice #2 or #4 size riggor Ugly brushes for applying art gum – Cheap synthetic brushes Paper – Arches is what I prefer. By one sheet (22’ x 30“) of 140 lb. cold press and one sheet ( 22’ x 30“) 300 lb. cold press paper Paints – These are just some of the colors I like. I put in bold type the ones you might not own. (You probably own many of these colors. Bring others you have, also.) Yellows: Aureolin, Quinacridone Gold, Cadmium Yellow Light, Gamboge or New Gamboge Reds: Rose Madder Genuine, Alizarin Crimson, Permanent Rose, Cadmium Red Light Indian Red, Light Red Blues: Cobalt blue, Winsor Blue (red shade), French Ultramarine Blue Prussian Blue (optional) Green: Viridian, Winsor Green (Blue shade), Hookers Green (optional) Others: Burnt Sienna, Cadmium Orange, Raw Sienna (optional)
Bring these 3 colors to the first class: Aureolin, Rose Madder Genuine and Cobalt Blue
